Ladders like cable trays are load bearing components meant for industrial and large cable support applications. The load bearing capability of a ladder is significantly higher than that of a cable tray of a comparable size. Altair ladders are manufactured from sheet steel and the rungs are either welded or bolted onto the side rails. Either scheme is acceptable from a performance perspective; however the bolted schemes can be relatively stronger as the area of contact between the rungs and the side rails is higher. The dimensions of the side rails and rungs determine the number of cables that can be run and the relative strengths of the system.
